Does your word mean so little to you?š¶
Do you remember all the commitments you made to yourself? The promises?
Hey friends,
A short one this week.
I dodged a bullet recently, well, two bullets. Received the results for the two classes I attend. One came on Monday and the other on Wednesday. I had my fingers crossed for these. It wasnāt the best of semesters last time, and so I was pretty tensed for the outcome of these results.
For the results received on Wednesday, itās either a āPassā or āFailā, no in between, and no second chances. Fail and repeat the class, pass and move on. Simple.
And to make it worse the portal to access the results broke down apparently due to students all over the country flooding it to access their respective results. But honestly, if the organization already knows there are many students accessing their services why not make a student portal or management system that can actually accommodate the high influx of students when the results come out.
Anyway, I digress.
So after receiving my results and the anxieties dissipating, I was very grateful within me that Iād dodged last semās bullet. I honestly hadnāt stuck to my studying commitments last sem. Always got distracted by social media and not allocating time properly, and all those other stuff University teens get into. And Iām definitely committing to not doing that again. My peace of mind is not worth all that.

All this reminded me of some tweet Iād read online a while back, about sticking to your New Year goals, and generally all commitments one makes in life.
It goes:
Do you remember all the excitement you had back in December?
2024! NEW YEAR!
Do you remember all the commitments you made to yourself?
The promises?
I'm on my 1129th day since I made the commitment to train every single day without rest.
What day are you on for your commitments?
Remember when you said you were not going to scroll social media anymore?
Remember the daily training you were supposed to still be doing?
Remember how you were going to stop messing up and finally take life seriously?
WHY DID YOU STOP??
It's gonna be almost 6 months.
And you just gave up?
BECAUSE ITāS HARD???
Does your word mean so little?
I understand that you have excuses, what I do not understand is why you don't just stick to your commitments anyway.
You will read this post and you will give yourself another excuse for why breaking your own promise to yourself was justified.
And that's why you will stay miserable forever.
And when you read this post, there are two different reactions you can have.
Continue breaking your 2024 commitments to yourself, justify it and make excuses for why you will remain the way you are.
Get back to daily training, back to the daily SUFFERING and make yourself proud.
CHOOSE.

āš½Quote of the Week
Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not.
Both are equally terrifying!
šYou might have missed my most popular writingsš(so far..)
Itutuš§š½āāļø - A West African Philosophy of Calm. Itutu, is a Yoruba word that is translatable as ācoolā and has been used to describe the aesthetic that characterizes much of the Yoruba. An Itutu aesthetic includes the appearance of physical or sexual beauty whilst having a humble, calm, collected face that is found in much Yoruba sculpture. The word denotes a particular approach to life: unhurried, composed, assured and unflappable.
Go big or stay home?š£ - when you have the opportunity to go big on your business, what would you choose. The hustle and bustle of owning your own company in New York, or stay at home and continue enjoying siestas with Maria, your wife, with the little profits you make?
