Sweeping things under the ragšŸ§¹šŸš¶šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø

For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction.

Has life ever caught up to you?

Ever thought your evil doings or mistakes won’t catch up to you?

I cannot number the number of things I’ve postponed over the years, or let slide in the false belief that they would not affect me later, or just simply covered things up hoping others won’t see, but most importantly lying to myself that I won’t notice and will probably just forget. Out of sight out of mind, right?

But my brain has this rather annoying thing, that it brings up the worst of my memories when I clearly don’t need them, and even the happy memories it brings out as ā€˜sad nostalgia’.

And so I could lie to others that something is past us or me, but my mind, aah this thing can be annoying sometimesšŸ˜….

You might, for example, not cry in a funeral (especially for men), saying that you should not cry, right? But more often than not, that grief piles up inside and can come out at one moment with even worse bruising to your soul. Often, this grief is released as violent behaviour that sometimes leads to unnecessary crime. The pain had bumped your rag, and now it is time to clean under that rag.

This week I realized a lot of stuff happening in my life are due to things that I’ve swept under the rag over the years, and now it is time to clean under the rag and the rag itself. And this is messy, and painful, and tough, and often embarrassing. It’s tough when past mistakes that I ignored to handle back then come back to haunt me now. Some disappointments that I left unattended come back stronger, and then I feel as if my life is bleak, yet it is just something I had to go through then and get done with.

I was recently telling a friend that when dealing with problems, I believe I just have to go through them and not go around them - they might come back worse.

One of my favorite scenes in the first Avengers is when Steve Rodgers tells Tony Stark that the only thing Tony fights for is himself. He’s not one to make the sacrifice play of lying down on a bomb wire so that others crawl over safely. But Tony, in typical Tony Stark fashion, replies to Steve that he (Tony) would cut the wire, not lie on it. Cutting the wire is actually the best solution, coz everybody gets over safe and the problem is fully solved. Not lying down and when the person lying gets up the bomb is still there to be triggered.
If it is pain and/or heartbreak, go through it and experience it to get it done with.
If it is a daunting task, do it and get it done with. Instead of adding it to your to-do list and letting that list of things you don’t want to do pile up.

Do not forget for a moment, the universal law of Physics, that for every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. The reaction can be now, or, if you let it, in the far future when it might not be needed.

If you sweep many things under the rag, over time you end up with a bumpy rag. Under this bumpy rag has to be cleaned one day, and it is often messier than the single cleaning’s you’ve had before.

I don’t feel like I’ve brought this out clearly as I wanted to, but I will rewrite this in the near future.

Point to take home: avoiding necessary things right now, might forcefully come back later under wrong timing or unpleasant ways.

ā¤ļøMy favorite things this week.

  1. ArticlešŸ“§ - this week I read a wonderful article titled ā€˜The Shortcut is Probably Too Long’. This is a wonderful read for people like me who always want to do it their way, which rarely works. Or if it does work my way, someone has to have a problem with it. It can be very eye-opening to you, check it outšŸ‘€.

āœšŸ½Quote of the Week

There is no limit to the amount of good you can do if you don’t care who gets the credit.
