🌌Night changesšŸ•š

We're only getting older!

Hey friends,

A few days after my last post and I still have no idea what to write. This week’s been pretty boring :( , but once my sister told me, ā€˜if a place is boring, you’re the one who is boring’, and so I always try as much as possible to engage myself in something productive.

I didn’t do that this weekšŸ˜‚. I have been mostly lost in contemplative thought of how fast my life is moving, and how I’m doing nothing about it. This was most probably caused by my listening too much to the One Direction song - Night Changes. Oh, this song, one of my favorites, and I guess so too for 700M+ others in the world, per the YouTube algorithm. I’m a bit saddened though that I started loving One Direction a little too late.

Anyway, back to the message of this morning; how fast my life has blown past my eyes. Even these last two weeks of Camp have flown by like chaff, and now the hangovers are here to remind me of the memories.

Sadly, what hammers this feeling is that all my friends have already reported back to school, either for the new semester or back in high school for the final term of the year. And I’m the only one still around on holidays. Nowadays I walk these dusty streets and all I see is empty homes and noiseless playgrounds. Brings that memory of a tumbleweed blowing in a desert in every American movie shot in the desertšŸ˜….

We’re only getting older baby,

And I’ve been thinking about it lately,

Does it ever drive you crazy just how fast the night changes!?

One Direction was definitely right, we’re only getting older, never younger. And it should drive me crazy just how fast the night changes.

I often believe when one is young one doesn’t see how fast time fleets. My primary school days were the longest! But ever since I started taking control of my own life and activities I engage in, time has proved to be the most important aspect of anything. In a blink, what you once enjoyed as a present moment is now a distant memory.

What I’ve definitely engraved in me now, is to enjoy the moment and live in the moment. As my greatest musician Musa Juma once sang: ā€œodiochieng makadho okano duog kendo baba..otieno be makadho okano duog kendo baba..yoyoo!ā€ (the days that pass shall not return, neither will the nights).

Have a wonderful week ahead!

Reagan.
