The Gospel according to Bobby GlassšŸ˜Ž

Featuring the drug empire of John 'The Gospel' Dixon.

Friends,

Gotta be honest. I’ve never really understood how drugs make money. I’ve tried surveying so many of my friends and even people who are into drugs but they all give incomprehensive answers. And even those friends who use drugs don’t actually know how the rich make money out of them, or if they do, they can’t articulate the process. What a waste, right?

So last weekend I finished this awesome short Netflix series - The GentlemenšŸ˜Ž. (I totally recommend it if you are a person of classšŸ„‚, loves business and money, and is easily influenced to think to change your personality to that of a movie’s main characteršŸ˜….)

The series, generally, is about drugs and money laundering; from a rich British Duke’s perspective, not from the common Mexican drug gangs and stuff. And it reminded me of my point of how I never understand how drugs make money. Coz the movie rarely shows the actual transaction of how the buyers buy the drugs and how it reaches the final consumer. But at the end, it is said to make millions.

I don’t have much reasoning/thought behind my POV: if mostly it is low income people who buy the drugs, how does it become a million dollar business? Is it cause it is many people who buy the drugs? Often I see the rich and dynasties and all those wealthy guys, smoke stuff like cigars and drink the expensive alcohol. Not these rolled up ones. If the rich aren’t buying the drugs, how’s it making that much money? Drug lords are always shown as extremely wealthy. They have money to actually do anything. From drugs? How?

Examples of even here in Mombasa, of how secret drug dealers are making excessive amounts of money. How? Like I don’t really get how lucrative it could be. Drugs?

I was recently having a chat with friends after class, and we were talking of how people who make genuine money are so hard to find nowadays. If you do make genuine money, then it is a normal or ā€˜small’ amount let me say, compared to the numbers of drug lords.

Like explain to me like I am literally five years old how these guys make stupid amounts of money. Hit <reply>, lemme hear you.

Bobby Glass, is a smart head of some successful marijuana ā€˜company’ run by his first born daughter. But the real crazy character is John ā€˜The Gospel’ DixonšŸ˜‚, some ā€˜religious’ drug lord who is not someone to deal with. So Bobby and The Gospel are both top drug lords earning crazy amounts of money from their empires. That’s what I’m here to find out - how?

Some joke I saw online: If the government finds diamonds or oil in your house backyard, it’s government property. But if they find weed/drugs in your backyard, it’s yours?šŸ˜…
