🏕Camp Meeting
A blessed week taken day by day🚶🏽♂️.
Well, this week was the Camp Meeting of my first church and one I personally grew up in - Muhoroni Central SDA Church. Other than the personal love I have for the place, the Camp was quite something!
I remember last week I was in turmoil on whether to come back home or stay in Nairobi. And I chose to come back home due to reasons I stated before. On coming, my main goal, rather, was to attend the Camp Meeting. It has always been something I’ve attended since childhood so it was really a no brainer if I would ever attend if I’m around. And so I attended as from Monday this week and it has been the best, as it often is.
The guest choir in attendance was a very powerful choir that really brought the Camp to its life since the start. The guest speakers were also rather good.

A few things that fascinated me most though, were (1)my friends and (2)the ton of lessons I personally learned and was taught by close ones. My friends were so active and interactive, and that just made me never feel left out whatsoever throughout the week. They made it so fun, especially on Saturday when it is pure vibes and laughs and catching up, with people you’ve not met for I donno how long. Then the choirs spice it all up with heavenly music that brings both old and young to their feet. Aah, the things that make my body tingle with joy goosebumps are very minute😅.
Anyway, not much to write this week. This starting week I attend my current church’s Camp - Muhoroni East Camp Meeting!
In general it has been a great Camp. And that single decision I made last week on Saturday night (to come back home and not wait in Nairobi) was totally the reason I fully enjoyed this week. I decided to take it one day at a time and eventually the whole week was a blast! A lifetime lesson that one.
❤️My favorite things this week.
🤩💹My highest views yet🤩 : this week, despite not writing on Wednesday due to the Camp Meeting as stated above, I had my highest views on Substack yet. This week, my last post - One Day at a Time, had a total of 244 views in one week. Mental! I have not even opened the Substack app this whole week due to commitments. Absolutely going somewhere with this and not gonna stop anytime soon now. Thanks to everyone who read it by the way; you guys are the truest :)
🤵🏽Wore my first suit, in a while : buana I am not a suits person; lemme just put it out there! I have come to full agreement terms with my inner self that I am not Mike Ross, leave alone Harvey Specter. I tried out my pastor’s suit today😅 and in as much as everyone said I look okay and good, I refused to buy their thoughts. I felt uncomfortable and halfway through the service I took it off and was back in my baggy khaki trousers and lose fitting shirt. Turns out I don’t like nor look well in tight fitting clothes, as many other people in suits do. I will no longer fight it and will just wear what makes me look decent and comfortable. Mmmh well, maybe someday I’ll wear material clothes and suits (who knows). But for now, no fighting within myself that I don’t like nor feel comfortable in them.
As I said, not much this week. I’m also writing this with a pounding headache on a Saturday night, after the day full of merry and cheer at the Camp. But I hope the little I’ve scribbled above might help somewhere🙂, or not.
PS: If you have a few seconds to spare, please hit the <reply> button and let me know what you thought of this email. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it and what could be improved. It also reminds me that there’s another person reading it on the other end of my screen😅. Thanks.
Have a wonderful week ahead!
